Its also illegal NOT to leave a note, friend found that out the expensive way!

We actually witnessed a lady hitting another car once, DH made her leave a note and we also left a note after she left saying we witnessed it in case the offender came back and removed the note. The poor lady called us the next day thanking us, she only bought the car brand new the same week.

I hit a ladies car in the carpark of a shopping centre, and left a note and my number. I also paid to get the part I smashed fixed. I tell you I feel so much better in doing so, I'd be paranoid about it if I hadn't, and I would like to think if someone hit me they would do the same.. The person who hit MIL's car will get their Karma...

I always leave a note, and now I also take a photo of any damage (or lack of) that may have occurred. After getting a phone call 2 weeks after I nudged a vehicle and they tried telling me that the damage they had done by reversing into a pole was my fault.... Ahhhh, no I don't think so!! So, yes leave a note, take a photo and record the incident with either the police or document for your own protection too!

I have seen a caravan scrape along a bmw. And drive off. I tried to snap the number plate with my phone but didn't catch it.

I am the same, I would 100% leave a note or knock on the door if it was outside a house.

I am so angry that people are so dishonest.

I would... and have done... I only dented a number plate but I felt so bad I couldn't leave without leaving my details. The cars owner never called thankfully but I would have regretted it if I had walked away... Blardy conscience!

I would leave a note with all my details on it, its only fair and what goes around comes around. You should always treat others how you would like to be treated.

I have left a note even though it was just a small scratch. The owner called and said thanks but that they weren't worried about it so they wouldn't be taking it further. I would always leave a note if it happened again and I would hope people would extend the same courtesy to me!
