Default Would you leave a note?

MIL was babysitting tonight while DH and I saw a movie and when she went to leave she noticed someone had crashed into her car while it had been parked out the front. I'm so upset as it's going to cost at least her $600 excess to fix and it wasn't her fault but the person who hit it didn't leave a note.

My question is, would you leave a note if you did something like this? Honestly?

Yes, I'd leave a note. It's the right thing to do.
    Sorry about your MIL car

I had a very similar situation - we were sitting for friends and when we left I reversed into a car. In my defense, it was a dark street and the car was black and parked on a verge next to a corner and there were no street lights.

We left a note with our number and also asked our friends to look out for the owner to explain what happened. We also reported it to the police so the car owner could match it up if they filed a report.

Don't agree with people not taking responsibility for these types I'd things - accidents happen. Deal with it like an adult I say.

Op, I hope ur MIL reports it to the police as well

Where I used to live people hit cars and drove off all the time. If we caught them driving off we either stopped them or wrote down the details for the car that drove off. We even had a stranger come to our door to tell us someone hit the car and drove off.. Id leave a note, although i dont go around running into cars

Of course I'd leave a note... Im an honest person. The only people who don't leave notes are the untruthful type and those who's car is probably not registered or insured.

Yes i would. I would feel terribley guilty otherwise.
I had a woman hit my parked car right in front me and then drive off. Because there were no witnesses i had to pay to have my car repaired.

I hit a car while reversing in a supermarket car park and waited in my car for the owner to return so we could exchange details. She was really lovely about it. I was a bubbling mess afterwards!!!
Would have left details if she hadn't shown up,
