Red face Nonreactive baby...or something..very confused!!!

Ok, i went to the hospital to check for uti as i am having a few symptoms...they did everything placed me on monitors and cervical exam.

Now baby is kicking heaps and it hurts and i have irretable uterus. The uti came back negative bit they sent it away anyway. The cervical exam showd that i have sjortened and softened but nothing critical and for 34 weeks it is acceptable. What confuses me is that doc said that the baby is a little nonreactive...but she is not too worried because i feel alot of movement. Now, i made the mistake too google and is freaking out a tad...again.

Does anyone know what it means? Is baby distressed?

No one has ever taught me as much as my children has!

I'm not sure what it means but maybe it just means non-reactive to pokes, pods etc the normal way a doctor make the baby move. maybe she wasn't worried because you had said the movements were fine. try not to stress. I'm sure everything is fine.

Thanks newmum, she was not poking baby to make her move, it was according to the graph results. Baby no 2's heart rate dropped during one of these tests and i had an emergency cs at 35 weeks all due to an infection

They like to see the heart rate on the ctg go up and down a lot. If your babys heart rate is too even, it's non reactive.

Same as a low or high heart rate can signify a problem, as can a non reactive.

I think standard practice is a repeat ctg the following day, or after giving mum food and drink.

If you have lots of movement, then baby may just have been asleep while you were on the monitor.

Ok, so if bubs move less, i will go in again tomorrow otherwise i will wait for my appointment next week and maybe go a little earlier and do another one of those tests. I think she was sleeping too and just squirmed to get away from the monitors...i felt her move lots during the test.
