If you have a read through several people have stated what the issue is. It's not "my" point I was referring to but the point of the OP and the petition. If you click the link provided the petition organizer does a pretty good job of summarising what the issue is. There's no need to get all sarcastic, I just meant maybe you could go and have a read. Genuine asylum seekers have been through hell, something us privileged Aussies can barely comprehend. Many asylum seeker women have lived through war, sexual violence, abuse and even more. To target them with tag lines like the we want to shoot you joke is insensitive, tasteless and offensive to anyone who feels compassion for these people. Then you have the rest, trying to exploit these women (many of whom may well be living in relative poverty here) into getting their gear off for a few bucks, it's just, well, it's awful. If you don't want to sign that's your prerogative. I'm confused as to why you commented on this thread if you are fine with what Zoo is doing, but meh, whatever.

Thanks For responding I appreciate it. Perhaps I'm clicking on the wrong thing but I couldn't see any reference to zoo wanting to publish sexual assault stories. I though it was a "have you traded persecution for sexiness" comp only in the aspect of "are you a sexy person now who was previously persecuted" or "hottest asylum seeker" type thing.

I'm happy to re-read and re-consider if there is evidence zoo is actually asking for stories of sexual assault to publish alongside hooter photos of the victim.

'traded persecution for sexiness' reads to me as wanting accounts of sexual assault to me.

I dunno, it's a bit "world's hottest Jew" and then throwing in Nazi jokes.

Escaping persecution is a pretty serious thing, not something I would joke about personally.

I didn't think at all it meant asking for sexual assault victims/stories. More like a "rags to riches" thing.

    I agree it's bad taste.

Could be I guess, I thought it was a bit coincidental considering so many women are raped or trade sexual favours to avoid further persecution.

Could read either way, much like their hilarious shooting joke

Thank goodness they have dropped it, just a pity they published it in the first place.

One would think common sense and some compassion would have prevented them running such a comp in the first place!?! Guess im expecting too much, it is zoo afterall
