I think you've kind of missed the point.

I think I could take Zoo readers a litle more seriously if they said "hang on, I enjoy this magazine but this is just insensitive". If a magazine I enjoyed suddenly decided to have a campaign targeting a minority group in such a callous way I wouldn't be sending my money their way until the situation was rectified.

I totally agree. I don't often buy mags but do enjoy the odd Marie Claire, if they started joking about victims of war, political prisoners etc in an effort to exploit the prettiest one, women would revolt! Why is it ok for a lads mag? Awful.

Perhaps it does say something about the calibre of the readers? Surely there has to be some zoo readers who read that and said ......."hang on"?!

    1. I don't believe all asylum seekers are genuine refugees.

    2. I can't think of an over 18 who volunteers photos of their hooters for men to gawk at as being vulnerable. Other words come to mind and vulnerable is not one of them.

    3. I can understand how genuine refugees may be offended: this is bad taste. To be honest though ones that would be offended probably wouldn't be reading zoo.

If you want to sign the petition go ahead, I can see why you would. At the same time it's my right to not sign the petition. No amount of veiled insults will change my mind.

Look at you missing the point again and again. Amazing.

Well how about you try something different: explaining the point in black and white english instead of doing the passive aggressive maneuver. I'll then tell you what I think. I may even agree.

Zoo has asked people who have traded sex for persecution to tell their story. They want stories of rape for readers enjoyment. They then put in a 'pun' about shooting.

There was no mention of non-genuine refugees - they specifically mentioned asylum seekers escaping persecution.
