    Hi,
I started it 4 weeks before my wedding last year and it works really quickly, but depending on how much you want to lose would determine whether I would try it. If you have got much 5-10kg max then give it a go but if you've got more to lose then I think I would find it really hard going (if you stuck to the rules religiously!!). It's got good principles though, but what would work best is cutting out foods that that bloat you, eat heaps of protein, fruit and veg, drink heaps of water, exercise daily (this is a rule on Dukan - walking 20-30mins a day). If you can get to a library that has it go borrow and read all the way through the stages then see if it's for you, if you've got steely determination and more motivation than Michelle Bridges then you'll be fine!!
I've got terrible staying power so I may have made it sound harder than it is!!

    Thanks pumpkin seed.

Do you know if there is an edited one for breastfeeding? DD is currently mixed fed, so if I had to during the first three-odd days ill bottle feed & pump to keep supply. But do you know if the second phase is suitable at all? Google is not helping at the moment!

    tia!!

I don't think there's a particular version for that but he did write something about not suitable for pregnancy which is partly why I stopped. If I can find the book I'll have a look through it for you. The second stage has 5 days protein only and 5 days protein and veg and you stay on that til you get to your goal weight, which is why I think it would be a hard slog for someone wanting to lose a lot, I think you can do 1 day protein then one day protein/veg instead which I think would be easier and he says this is more suitable to pear shaped women ( this is what I did), also I think would probably be nutritionally better for breast feeding but don't take all this as gospel as I'm writing what I remember, I haven't looked at it for about 6 months. Will hopefully get back to you Thursday as that's my day off and I can have a look for the book.

    Hi Cakester,

Very sorry I haven't replied sooner but just found the book after a dig around the office/junk room! I had a read and it said you can follow phase 3 (Consolidation) throughout pregnancy and breastfeeding with a few modifications that he goes through in the book. It's basically a very healthy eating regime in that phase. Now that I've re-read it, I may even (attempt to) get back on it - good luck and hope it goes well for you

My uncle had great success as a kickstart- but it's not sustainable long term in his opinion, I've read some articles that concur like this one, but i'm sure you could take key principles and come up with a healthy plan
