I take them. I love it when the butcher does steak!

And I used to hate handing ou samples and always hope to get rid of them quickly so I could get back behind the counter!

I generally don't, for much the same reasons as the OP.

Plus I don't want some sales pitch or pressure to buy or to have to say no. I find it less awkward just to avoid the situation. although maybe I'm just a bit of an awkward person, lol.

I used to just say no thanks and keep going but then they started asking my children if they'd like some so now I just tell them the truth - your food will kill my daughter due to her allergies so we'll pass, but thank you.

That annoys me soo much when they use the kids- and even worse if your child has allergies!!!

Yes it sucks when they bend down and shove a Freddo frog in her face...'would you like a Freddo frog why you're out shopping with mummy' *insert evil eye from me* 'no she wouldn't. If she eats that she will die.' Person shoving Freddo frogs in kids faces is like
I know it's rude but honestly I hate that my kids are so often offered a lollipop, or chocolate or some other random crap food that I don't allow them to eat so I am not the nicest to them because I don't think they should be shoving these things in to any kids faces, but discreetly asking the parents so they can actually have the chance to say no.

There are basically no free samples where I shop, this thread is making me feel deprived! But the few times there have been samples at woollies I always try, with no intention of buying. I just love free stuff! But then I get suckered in and end up buying what it is anyway...I am a salesperson's dream.

Nope I don't, I'd feel obligated to buy if I ate their "free samples"
