    Hi all

Well today has been very up and down, had a good breakfast then we went out and I managed to have something within my calorie range when it came time to eat when we came home I was ready to flop on the couch and watch some day time tv I started reading the recent posts and someones post gave me motivation to keep moving after I had finished DD feed, so I cleaned the house, walked to do the school pickup came back
and did 30 mins on the treadmill, rower and exercise bike all up so proud of myself for doing a proper cardio session. Updated my calorie counter and imputed what I was going to have for dinner, still had plenty of calories left for the day so I treated myself to a piece of jelly slice I made to the kids and DH the other day and a milo. DH then comes along and wants something else than what I was going to cook for dinner it ended up being double the calories of what I originally planned. So all up I went over my calorie limit by 14 calories using my extra allowance for exercising as well, now i have no calories left and about 4 hours till I go to bed, ill just keep drinking water to keep me full. so today wasn't great but it is better than some of my past eating habits. So tomorrow my aim is to exercise again and go stay under my calorie limit and to not use all the extra allowance I get through exercising. I hope you all had a pretty good day too.

Is it too late for me to join? Sorry, I just saw this thread but I'm really keen to join if I can.

I'd like to lose 6kg in the next 6 weeks and need all the motivation and support I can get - I've lost and gained the same 5kg about 4 times this year already!

I am one to struggle with water intake. I could easily go 4/5 hours without drinking. I really need to pay this some attention!

Definitely not to late Scarlet, I've added you to the list. Welcome to the challenge and good luck .

grumpy - Because I'm low carbing, I use this a lot for inspiration:** Low carb recipes **
Unfortunately most of the recipes on it don't have a nutritional listing but it's not too hard to work out. There's also a heap of low carb recipes on sparkpeople.com

Also, the little t. is teaspoon, big T. is tablespoon Sorry it took me so long to see that!
Thanks Eko. I'm always pretty heavy-handed with spices so I probably ended up with tablespoon measurements anyway, haha. It was DELICIOUS. Yum yum yum. I highly recommend it to anyone else who's considering making it! I couldn't get fenugreek in Safeway the other day so I popped some fennel seeds in instead as I love these in curries. I did a huge quantity and we'll be eating it again tomorrow night. DH also loved it.... even as a meat-loving man

Hi all, it sounds like everyone is getting into the swing of things.

Kiplusthree - your picture made me quite jealous while eating my very plain salad. I will get to making some soup on the weekend so I can have some more satisfying lunches.

Eko - I'm glad to hear you're getting over the crazy hungry stage. I can't stand that feeling, I remember walking past a cafe during the first week of a diet once and seriously considering hitting one of the customers with my handbag and running off with their muffin. I'm thankful to not have that feeling this time as I'm eating more than I usually would and not counting calories. Trying to find that elusive healthy eating and exercise that I can maintain forever, rather than the usual "woohoo, I've lost the weight now I can eat what I want" that I usually do.

MissSookyLaLa - sorry to hear your little one is unwell. There is still plenty of time to get to the c25k. When I did it the first time I got the app because I was going to start that weekend and a month later I finally got started.

Jakois - I am seriously impressed at that exercise effort while still feeling flat. I'm impressed with myself if I manage to take the dog for a walk if I'm feeling a bit off.

Welcome Scarlet Starlet, I totally hear you on the losing then gaining the same bit of weight over and over again, I'm really hoping I can get a more permanent result this time.

I've been really happy with myself today. Eating was good, no cake, chocolate, biscuit or lolly snacks. I even got some icecream for ds2 and didn't have any myself (usually it's 1 scoop for you and 5 for me ). I have come up with a plan that if I really feel like something I have to wait for 2 days and then if I still really want it I can have it. I'm hoping this way I won't feel deprived but also won't impulsively snack on crap.
Exercise-wise I did level 1 of the 30 day shred dvd. I almost turned it off after the first circuit and sat down on the couch with some chocolate as I was really struggling and this was the exercise I used to do for a light workout. So angry at myself for letting it all go, but nothing to do now but get back to it. So I finished the workout and felt good about it in the end. Feel a bit sore today from weights yesterday but nothing too bad so pushing ahead.

Keep up the good work everyone! We can do it

I'm still feeling a bit flat and my appetite hasn't come back properly yet.... Look out for me when it does! I'll have to use my willpower to not eat the entire contents of the fridge!

I'm having a simple Spinach and Cottage cheese wrap for tea tonight.
