Default Question if you had a wishing well...

I am very curious in regards to wishing well vs gifts.....

    If its not too personal...

How much did you get in your wishing well and how many people attended?

What did you spend it on?

Dh and I received approx $2000 I think. We had 104 people at our wedding. And we put the money with other funds and used it for our house deposit.

We got around $3 000 I think. There was around 50 people at the wedding but my father in law alone gave us about $1 000....it was a huge amount from him. My parents gave us $500 (they also paid for the wedding).
We used it to buy ourselves a new bedroom suite.

We had a wishing well, but it was up to the guests whether they participated, and we didn't expect cash (it was actually more for well wishes etc). We had some guests contribute money, others gave vouchers and others gave actual gifts. We didn't mention anything regarding the wishing well in the invite because of the fact it was more for the purpose of guests to write messages etc as oppose to giving money.

We had about 70 guests at the wedding and reception, and we got about $1500 cash plus about $100 in gift cards. The cash we used to buy a new bed and mattress- a sign of our new fresh start and new life together.

We got about $4000 in our wishing well. We had about 90 guests.
We used the money for a washing machine, dishwasher, dining chairs, sofa and coffee table.

We had 110 guests including the Bridal Party. We received about $6,500 and spent it on our honeymoon.

We had 82 guests from memory and received about $4k. Some of the money paid for honeymoon accommodation, the remainder went into our high interest savings account

Actually I was thinking, and thought I should point out that $400 of that was from 1 couple. Most people gave $50, my parents paid for our mini moon (4 days away) as their present to us, some gave gifts.
