I've bought heaps second hand. A good wash with canestan and some sunshine kills all germs.

I've wondered this as I have a huge collection and we have close friends who are pregnant and want to use MCNs but don't want the massive outlay so I wanted to offer them ours... but didn't know if that's weird?!

I have quite a few secondhand ones, and never thought twice about it.

It's less wasteful to buy secondhand as well.

Yes! I've bought heaps secondhand. There are some great bargains where people only use them a few times, decide cloth isn't for them and sell them.

I mostly made my own, but a couple of times I bought second hand nappies off forum members that I 'knew', ie not total randoms because then I wouldn't be sure how well they had cared for the nappies and hence how long the life of the nappy might be.

I would also buy second hand pants/jeans/skirts for my child, and I can bet a whole lot of kids had accidents in their pants and no one usually bats an eyelid!

And yes, this as well! One of the concepts of MCN is that you are producing less landfill for our world; if you are able to get more use out of a MCN rather than the owner having to chuck them in the bin, then you are extending this concept even further!

Hmmmm I do understand the knicker comparison, having said that, I have some near-new second hand ones (used only a couple of times) and they were fine. You can tell they are near new as they are spotless and no lint or anything.

Jennibear can you please pm me the link you posted (if thats not against the bh rules that is)
