    I agree silver = $$$ so i think i will go white.
Westinghouse and kelvinator are much cheaper - im wondering why????

Thanks for the help ladies, i am off to the good guys today. DH is putting all his trust in me as he is busy with work and cant come with me eeeekkk!!! Hope the sales people are nice to me!
Yep bottom mount is when the freezer is down the bottom.

I think Westinghouse has somewhat declined in quality over the years... But i spose, what hasn't?
My mother had her westinghouse fridge and freezer for over 20 years before the freezer finally packed it in.
The last fridge i had was a Westinghouse and it started falling apart from the inside from early on.

We got an Electrolux which apparently is made by the same people who do Westinghouse but its more energy efficient. It's a single door as we had a side by side at my mums and it's was annoying not being able to put large platters in it. We decided against getting one with a water/use dispenser as we didn't want the added cost and hassle of getting a plumber out to connect it all up.

Well, i did it. I made a decision and we now are the proud owners of a beautiful BIG SPACIOUS 520ltr WESTINGHOUSE fridge! It's so new and sparkly! I loooove it!!!!!!!! Deep, wide glass shelving and SEPERATE vegies/fruits crisper with "humidity control" oooohhhhh!!!! And it's so COLD!!! open the door and a cool breeze hits you......amazing!
My mum informed me their Westinghouse is still going (beer fridge now) after 35 years OMG!!!!! i'd be happy if ours lasted half of that! Let's hope they do still make them how they used to!

I got a GREAT package deal including delivery and set up.
DH got home and actually said : "wow it's great you did well but....., did we really need it THIS big???"......ummmmm HECK YES! i can fit bowls of salad and platters in there!!! theres even a wine rack in there!!!!!

Westinghouse and Kelvinator are Australian brands entirely made in Australia - so that's why they are cheaper and the parts are easily available. Kelvinator is pretty much a 'wanna be Westinghouse" they are very good too! Fisher and Paykel was also recommended to me.

So as you can tell. i am very happy with my purchase. The Good Guys were amazing, generous, honest and so helpful. The sales guy was actually trying to sell me a smaller cheaper one but i had eyes for the big mumma.....and he knew it!

Thanks again for all the replies.

Im not too sure but i have only ever heard of my local ones thru tv commercials. Sometimes when shops r closing down, liquidation sales ect. Maybe there is a store dediacted to scratch and dent items i really dont know.
Another option is a warehouse store kinda like bunnings it's called "Masters Home Improvement" - *i think*. We dont have one where i live though.

Also have one at bowen hills too. Their prices are ok there but have only been in there once looking at a dryer.

Was just gonna say I had my Westinghouse for 13 years and it was still going good but just too small (was my fridge when I moved out of home- now pregnant with 4 & 5). We got a fisher and paykel to replace it as it was the biggest one that would fit in our fridge space which is quite short and wide, otherwise I was determined to get another Westinghouse after how great the old one was!
