hubby is a chef, i'm a restaurant manager/trainer and between us we HATE weddings. so we had a 'bbq' for family and surprised them after they arrived by telling them we were getting married.

it was wonderful - no stress, no worry, no interference. we did everything exactly how we wanted. excellent food, amazing wine and champagne, i didn't have to fuss with a wedding dress and i loved the fact everyone was wearing thongs. my 'bouquet' was handpicked herbs from my garden so every time i smell oregano, i think of that day
That's what our plans are, only problem is we've been renovating the backyard for the past year and it probably won't be done for another few years. Oh well. We have decided if we get sick of waiting we will just sneak to a nice park with a celebrant then a nice lunch somewhere after. That's what my sister did - nicest wedding I've ever been to

We got married here and had all our photos done 5 mins down the road at the Botanical Gardens and the Mt Cootha Look out. The came back and had our reception there as well.

I got ready at the venue as they have accomodation and we had a complimentary room for the night.

We got married in Brisbane. We had booked the park under the story bridge but it was under water on the day so we got married across the road in the cbd down a side street outside the bar where we were holding the reception. It was a bit of an odd venue but with the back drop of the river and the bridge the photos were amazing and we were outside which was the main thing we wanted.

    I am in Brissie also.

We got married at Wantima Golf Club. http://www.wantimacountryclub.com.au/

My mum actually suggested it as she'd been to a wedding there, I hadn't managed to stumble across it during my venue search.

Lovely grounds for the ceremony and photos and a nice room for the reception. Way cheaper than a lot of other places too.

We got married in a tiny little church in the morning. Nothing special actually except that the minister of that church was the same minister that married my mum and dad. (We didn't attend that church but a family member found out he was there when they visted from interstate)

Then we had a lunchtime reception at a place that had a nice little garden. (So, photo's there first then reception) We were off on our Honeymoon that afternoon.

We got married at a University. In their Worship center. I wanted a church wedding and hubby didn't so it was a nice compromise.
