Just some information for those who may have had a similar problem/question:
I had been to Centrelinks on-line services in order to 'advise of non-lodgement of tax return', when I did this the service told me that I did not need to complete this process as I had already advised them. This confused me as I had not done this this year.
This morning I phoned Centrelink to question this and make sure that they did, in fact, have this information. I was on hold for 37 minutes but it was no problem as I have a landline and loud speaker!
Once I was off hold the, very helpful, woman told me that as I was solely on Parenting Payment this year the system automatically registered that I would not need to lodge a tax return. This is the reason why the system told me I had already advised. She also informed me that the supplement is due to be paid each year with the second FTB for the month of July.
I was very excited to be told that all was well because, as we all know, a small glitch with Centrelink can cause MAJOR problems. But this was not my only bonus dealing with Centrelink today... having given me this information the woman then advised me that I would recieve my supplement on Wednesday as she had advised the system and manually processed it. I would have recieved it next Thursday anyway but now I have the added bonus of getting it earlier!
For the first time in my life I say "Thank you, Centrelink, for your polite and VERY helpful staff member!" I wish I had taken down her name so I could give feedback!
Hope this information is of help...
