Default Anyone know how much speech pathology costs

I have a session tomorrow and realised i haven't done any research on how much these private sessions normally cost. it is for my 2 yr old in our home and is just to improve on her speech since she has had grommets put in.

Just want to make sure we aren't overcharged; the lady just sent me a message saying the session is $180.00?

Anyone know pricing info for this type of service.

That sounds about right for private... Usually the first visit is more around $400 and then the hourly rate varies on the practitioners etc. Have you consider the public speech therapists?

It really depends on where you live.
There is one here that her first appoinment was $500, another that was $280.

DS's SP charged $65 for a half hour. The first session was for an hour so it was $130.

thanks everyone. I feel better knowing the going rate varies so much and that it sounds somewhere in the middle. I just saw the amount and got a bit of a shock.

We have been booked in for public ones for a couple of months and they can't see us until september, so I have gone the private route as I don't want to wait any longer.

    Thanks for all your help.

My DS's sp charges $260 for initial appointment, then like $80 for 30mins $100 for 45mins and $120 for 1hr sessions, so it does vary alot from place to place.

We paid a similar amount, the first session was an assessment and we received a report. We then paid $70 per half hour and claimed some back with PHI.
