    Default Chemical Pregnancy?

    Hi Everyone,

DH & i were very excited to get our first ever BFP after TTC for over a year. I was 9DPO.

I had it confirmed 5 days ago at dr's with bloods, levels were only 21. Dr said this was very low, but definitely preg.

Since then the HPT's have been getting lighter & lighter. I can't get back into Dr's til tomorrow morning. My temp also took a massive nosedive this morning.

I'm worried that i'm experiencing a Chemical Pregnancy If so, when should i expect to have a bleed.

Has anyone else gone through this? Were you more fertile the following cycles?

    TIA

I got my first BFP 9dpo with my 2nd pregnancy and my HPT's were still very faint for another 5 or so days. Then they got a bit darker and that's when I stopped testing .

Sorry that you are worried, but I wouldn't be worried simply based on the HPT's getting lighter. As for temps a one off reading is hard to interpret. Hopefully you have a sticky bub ... try to relax if you can!

When I had my chemical, I got a faint positive HPT around 6-8 dpo. They didnt seem to get darker of the next few days, so went to the dr to confirm with bloods. Bloods came back low at 10 so had another blood test a few days later. They had risen, but only to 12. The dr couldn't tell me whether It was an ectopic or early miscarriage at that stage as the level had risen but only a small amount- not enough to suggest a viable pregnancy. Was due to have another blood test a few days later but was told if over the weekend I experienced any bleeding or cramping to head to hospital. Unfortunately we made it to the Saturday morning and I started bleeding. It was the very same day I was due for AF. Hospital confirmed I had miscarried.

We fell pregnant again the very next cycle and I am now 35 weeks pregnant.

    Hi There,

A chemical pregnancy is where you have tested positive before AF arrives then usually when AF is supposed to arrive or a day or two afterward you get then get AF which in actual fact is a very early miscarriage. They call is chemical as you only know you are pregnant by 'chemical' means.

For me I had a chemical pregnancy as I tested 3 days before AF and each day the positive got lighter and lighter. Then the day after AF when was supposed to arrive thats when I got AF. Tested a few days after and negative. Never got bloods done as I think it worries women more as they worry that its not doubling like it is supposed to. There are heaps of threads I have read on here where women have a low score like yours and go on to have a successful pregnancy.

And yes I absolutely believe you are more fertile next cycle as the next month I got the BFP (strongest BFP ever) and bubs is now 7 months!!

So and sticky ! Unless you are bleeding and have cramping you are still pregnant. I know its easy for me to say but try not to worry and stress. Just take each day as it comes.

Thanks for your advice, ladies. It puts my mind at ease a little.

I guess there's nothing to do but wait it out. AF is now 1 day late, hopefully it doesn't come at all.

    i'm worrying for nothing...

Could have written this word for word, if the line is still there I wouldn't worry too much ATM, the line disappeared for me then came the cramps and bleeding, DS was conceived 2 weeks later and s now a happy, healthily and a bit of a Dennis (lol) 16 mth old. Also with my chem pregnancy my levels dropped very quickly, I got my BFP on the Tuesday had the bloods taken the thursday and mc on the Friday, so a level of 29 at 9dpo is pretty good, with this current pregnancy mine was 32, I'm now 12 weeks pg.

    Good Luck Hun

It seems it's not to be. I have just started bleeding.

I'll just have to keep trying.

It just feels like Mother Nature has been particularly cruel this month.
