I'm amazed so many people don't see this as assault?

I don't agree with the hair cutting punishment.

Also if I had been the mother of the daughter charged I wouldn't have cut her hair off, I would have let her do the full time for community service. The mother didn't have to cut off her daughter's hair, she made a conscious decision to lessen her daughters sentence if she cut off her hair.

Your friends are most likely LDS, not FLDS.

They should have let the 3 year old cut her hair.

But seriously if it was an assault on the 3 year old not just a hair cut then the girls deserve to be taken to court to face consequences. My 4 and 6 year old know what consequences for bad actions are.

Exactly what I was gonna say. Americans sue over anything and everything it seems.

I see it as assault, and I'd be very angry, but probably wouldn't take it to court. I would *hope* the parent/s of the older girl would have enough sense to work out some kind of punishment themselves and have her apologize to the victim...

its not right that the mohter had to cut it off- should have given the scissors to the 3 year old victim to have her turn on both of them!

The 3 and 11 yr olds befriended the little girl and went and bought the scissors from a nearby shop with the intent to cut the tots hair.... hardly an accident- although I do wonder what the 3 yr olds mother was doing while it all happened... If my kids in a play area then I'm in that area supervising...

The 13 yr old seems to have a lot mroe issues as she is also in trouble for other stuff http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...ers-locks.html
