I wish we would see some tv shows with some substance. So much mindless junk....

I also can't stand big brother! Can't believe it's back soon.
I wonder if both Big Brother and The Shire will have high viwer numbers initially but once we see just how crap they are, we will stop watching.

I am pretty sure that's what happen with the Lara Bingle programme.

I'm just annoyed that this is how the Shire will be portrayed. Just because there's a select group of dropkicks, doesn't mean that Shire people are all like that, which what many people are thinking already, going by the FB statuses since the ads have been aired.
There are dropkicks everywhere, they're not exclusive to the Shire.

Sorry I know no-one has said that yet in this thread... yet! I'm just on defence because of what's being said on FB already.
I totally agree (probably because I live there!) I'm DREADING it!!!!

The Shire is a real place? Where is it? I will not watch this show. It looks awful and embarrassing.

I agree 100% Not looking forward at all to the stereotyping that will surely come from people watching this garbage. I don't live there. I did grow up there though. I wouldn't want my children to grow up there. However I know that the 'shire' already has a negative image and this silly show will just increase that negative image it really doesn't deserve. It is a special place to many people who live there as it is to me. It is a beautiful place. But just like every community there is good and bad. I also know for a fact that at least one of the main 'characters' on this show are not even from there!! How is that an accurate portrayal? But then again the network will be after ratings not an accurate portrayal of an area and it's people.

Cronulla is part of "the Shire" where they had those lovely race riots a few years ago , very redneck, it was also featured on "dumb drunk and racist "

Probably because of the way it's portrayed on tv shows!! We're not all rednecks.

See that is the really sad part though Elijah's mum. It isn't 'redneck'. The 'lovely' race riots you refer to was the most disgusting, lowest moment the shire, and most of Australia has ever witnessed from a civilised, educated community. It doesn't mean every inhabitant behaves or acts like that. Your comments are really getting quite offensive.
