Number 3. I like to do my own research. However I generally go with accepted medical/scientific evidence or research.. which doesn't mean I always beleive something is safe or okay and that's why its on the market. Some things are known to be harmful but are on the market for other reasons.

3 or 4. I think I often accept things at face value and it's not til I hear something scary that I start researching it (ie BPA or vaccines). But I believe 'they' often (not always) have money on their mind over consumer safety.

"MSG is perfectly safe, nothing to worry about, ever!"

"Cigarettes are fine, perfectly safe, in fact they exercise the lungs!"

    "BPA? Nothing to worry about!"

    "Aspartame? Perfectly safe!"

"Alcohol is fine for pregnant women and kids! What is there to worry about?"

    Need I go on?

I sometimes wish they would let *me* decide on what I put in my body I am sick of things I use being put on the banned lists because someone who obviously cannot read has misused the product(intentionally or not).

There is so much that is not banned that are in no way beneficial to health that are ok with this gov.

3 or 4 depending on the product and how I will use it. There are loads of things on the market that are harmful but they are not harmful enough (legally in this country) to be pulled off the market. Everything carries risk, it's up to the individual to decide how much personal risk to take, IMO. I wouldn't want to see every potentially dangerous product off the shelves just because some people think it's too risky- the choice should still be available and as long as the risks aren't concealed (for eg no ingredients list) then that's fine by me.

3 or 4, there are some things that I research till I can't go on, and there are others where I am happy enough to go with the main******, like anti biotics and stuff. Whereas there are other drugs that I have researched so much that I am too scared to take them. haha!
