    Default Babies ALWAYS farting? Normal??

    Hi,

My DS (6 weeks old) has turned out to be pretty free spirited and farts all day, every day. I was wondering if there's anyone else who's had this problem? Was there a reason? How did you stop it? I breastfeed, so it won't be due to formula/bottles etc. And most of the time they don't smell, but when they do... it's pretty bad!

    TIA

    Shay

My ds was the same. He is now 14 months and still farts a lot. Have had him checked, perfectly normal!

Yep, DD is now 16wks and toots all day (and night, I've heard it on the monitor! ) she is exclusively bf so yes it may be something I'm eating but it doesn't seem to bother her so I've not cut anything from my diet.

Our immature 10yo selves come out when she starts. You can't help but laugh at our not so little 'lady'

Am I a child? I started giggling the minute I read the title of this thread and then giggled my way through every post! What is it about farts/farting that is so amusing?!?!

I start each day with a laugh as my DD wakes up and all these loud PFFFFFFPFPFPFFFFTTTTT noises start emanating from the bassinet It's amazing how someone so little and adorable can make such horrendous noises

The reason for the flatulence I was told is that their guts are immature and lack the bacteria/enzymes to use the methane up or convert it. They do grow out of doing it all the time eventually.
