    Default Can antibiotics cause diarrhea?

My 9 month old is on antibiotics at the moment. (It seems like he is constantly sick lately) he's been on them for two days and today he's has diarrhea twice. This is the first time he's has antibiotics so I'm wondering whether it could be the antibiotics causing it? Any one had any experience with this?

Yes, it can be a common side effect. Also possible if you are BFing and on ABs.

Your pharmacist can recommend you a probiotic to help his tummy or perhaps even change brand/dose to reduce the effect.

Many abs also give a really nasty nappy rash, so watch out for that too.
