Default Can anyone working more than 3 days help me?

So i work 2 days a week, 1 dd in kindy 2 days a week and 1 dd in afterschool care 1 afternoon a week.

I have 50hr childcare benifit thing for both kids a week.

If i increase my work to 4-5 days a week will i get extra hrs covered from centrelink or is 50 the max?

My current job is slowing right down and we are starting to drown in bills so i figured a new job that has more hrs would be a great help.

But if i cant get any more hrs from. centrelink there will be no way on this earth i could pay the extra days.

On school holidays it would work out to be around $360-380 a week for the 2 plus the vacation care excursions.

Is this correct? Or will i get more hrs covered?

Oh a little info, im on full spp if that helps.

I only have one child but as far as I am aware it is 50 hours of care per child per week. For me this meant that, before DD was at kindy, if I worked 5 days the 5th day would cost too much to make it worth while. This was because the daycare would charge a full day (eg. 11.5hrs) for each day.

So 4 days = 46hrs all with CCB. But 5 days = 57.5hrs, 50hrs with CCB and 5.7hrs at full rate. When my CCB was 100% this would mean the 5th day would cost as much as the other 4 days altogether - so I would work 4 days.

So working 5 days for your kindy child probably won't make a big cost difference to care. But if you have one who would go into care 5 days that would probably cost a lot more. (especially as it's 50hrs per child not 100hrs per 2-child family). Hope that helps a bit.
    Me (37) + DH (32) = DD (5)

I just thought this myself, i may have miscalculated.

I think my dd in kindy is 12hr
And i think the afterschool is 4hr....?
Vacation care is 12hr to i think but it costs more than the kindy and add on excursions and so on.

Just so worried if i cant afford the extra hrs then bills will pile up.
And finding a job in school-kindy hrs.

    Argh nightmare

Some day care and family daycares charge per hour so long as your using a min amount so if you don't qualify for an extention of hours (but I'm sure you would get one working full time

I have 60hrs approved from centrelink for care. As the lines are most likely busy, i would go in and have a chat with them.

My kindy charges the whole day.

I wish that they would only charge by the hr because when work is really slow i only work 2hrs on one day.

How did you get it extended? I tried and they said there was no way this could happen? Only asking as some days I work 6 days a week and have to pay full price on the fifth day

I didnt even ask for it as i have no need for that many hours. Its possible for it to be extended but i think you need to prove why you need it extended.
