Default Our first wedding anniversary overseas tripe .. any ideas??

    Hi everyone

So DH and I have our first wedding anniversary in October and we have FINALLY settled on our destination. We are flying to NY for 6 nights, then flying over to Mexico for 4 nights in glorious Cancun and then flying back to the states in Las Vegas for another 4 nights and then home again.

So now that we have the locations and accommodation sorted, we are looking for ideas on things we must do and tours we must complete. We are going to do the Sex and the City Tour (as much as DH doesn't want to) but I can't really think of anything else at this point I really want to do. Any ideas for either NY, Vegas or Cancun? What did you do when you visited these spots?

    Thanks in advance!

    Firstly, I hate you!
I don't really but I am very jealous!!!
    I love love NYC and Vegas and have been 4 times each , my top tips;
    NYC
-- allow at least 2 days shopping!
    - Do a city tour - its such a big city so a half day tour is great to get your bearings and see the main areas
    - do a carriage ride around Central Park
    - get the Staten Island Ferry round trip, it's free and you go straight past statue of liberty
    - you must see a broadway show or 3!
    - better views from Rockefeller Plaza than Empire state building
    - see a basketball match at Madison Square garden
    - walk along 5th Ave shops
    - go to Natural History Museum
    - book a great restaurant
    Vegas;
    - allow a day for shopping!
    - see a few shows ( find out what's on before you go )
    -heaps of great restaurants
    - look at all the big hotels ( where are you staying?)
    - go on the New York roller coaster
That's all I can think of for now!

    Very jealous!

    New York:
    - everyone raves about the Highline (used to be rail tracks converted to a park). I found it slightly boring.

    - do a walking tour. I found out heaps of interesting things on mine.

    - we did a monster day trip up to niagra falls one day. Flew to Bufallo and back with an organised tour on the other end. Probably not worth the effort to be honest.

    Vegas:
    - I stayed at the Venetian, lovely rooms but annoying as I had to take 2 lifts to get to my room. Also overpowering deodoriser. But otherwise great.

    - I flew out to a ranch in the grand canyon. Then road quad bikes to the edge of the canyon (optional, they can drive you). AMAZING. No crowds. Highly recommend this tour.

    - stripper class. Good fun. I will stick with my day job.

Check out www.viator.com. It has all the activities and tours for each city, I found it really helpful. Not to mention trip advisor.

    Have fun!

    So jealous!! I would say...
NY - definitely the Museum of Natural History, go up the Empire State Building, see a Broadway Show. There is so much to do in NY there is no way you will be able to do it all! We were there for 5 nights and missed out on seeing heaps.
Vegas - we did a Helicopter tour to the Grand Canyon. We flew over Hoover Dam and then landed in the bottom on the Grand Canyon and had champagne and cheese. We then flew back into Vegas at night time so we could see all the lights - it was awesome!! Outlet shopping and the premium outlet centre (you will need an extra suitcase!!), see all of the attractions at each of the casinos (the Bellagio fountains are spectacular). So much to do!
Sorry have been to Cabo and a couple of other places in Mexico but haven't been to Cancun. You will have an awesome time

I've stayed there! The best cocktails !!! The Palazzo is next door and Wynn close by so make sure you go into those hotels too , ( take lots of money there is Jimmy Choo and Sephora in the Venetian shops!)
Oh also get your vows renewed by Elvis in one of the chapels , tacky as anything but hilarious photos!
