Hello I am New and moving to Cairns soon.

Hi there,
I am new to this Website and came across this area.
I am a SAHM of DD and DS. we are Moving to Cairns as DH is in the navy. we have been offered a house in Edmonton. is anyone on here currently in Cairns or no Cairns well that can tell me which suburbs are nice and weather Edmonton is a nice area for a young family to.

Hi!! I might be moving to Cairns soon as well, but I lived there for a few years when I was a kid.

When I lived there, we lived in Brinsmead and Redlynch and went to Redlynch Primary School, and that area was very nice and full of families and still is. I never went to the south side of the city, where Edmonton is but there was and is lots of new estates popping all over the place so I would imagine lots of young families might be moving there.

Just avoid any suburbs beginning with M (Manoora, Moorooabol and Manuda) and the park in the city. Wouldn't advise walking around the city at night by yourself.

Are you able to get into touch with other Navy families living in Cairns before you move that will be able to help?
