Default Late ovulation - anyone else?

    hello!

Just a bit confused as it seems (according to ultrasound) that I am a week and a half less pg than I thought I was. I'm definate my last period started the 6th April. According to dates I ovulated around the 26th. So do I assume my due date is in accordance with the ultasound or a standard ovulation? There would be around 10 days difference in dates. Anyone else had this happen!?

Sorry if that doesn't make sense. Any replies appreciated xo

Thanks for your reply, it's so true about the due dates! Not too concerned about when he/she arrives, more about when to book the morph scan! (mainly because I'm a control freak!!)

    Thanks again

    Hello fellow control freak

I was similar to you. I came off the pill in November so my March when I realised I was pregnant, my cycle was still irregular and I was guessing at the time I was ovulating about a week late. Of course, my GP, sonographers etc wouldn't listen to little old me, and continued to say that my embryo was smaller than expected, thus freaking me out.

Luckily the OB put my mind at ease and responded to the situation by telling the rest of them that I mentruated a week later than I did. Solved all the confusion.

Do you normally have regular cycles? If you're unsure of how long your cycles normally are, or if they're irregular, then you definitely could have O'd that late.

I had regular 34 day cycles so always ovulated on CD20 (except for the month we conceived this time ).

Thankyou so much for your replies! I'm not sure what my normal cycles are, but I think they are around 30 days. I feel really fortunate that it's not something I have ever really had to think about (until now) So can u ovulate at different times each cycle? I was pretty stressed at work so maybe that had something to do with it! Also had some spotting early on (5-6 weeks) so maybe that was meant to be a period? So confusing!!

My LMP was December 30 last year, but I apparently conceived at the end of January. I had a dating scan at 6 weeks to be sure. I still am highly skeptical of my due date, because I can't see how it was possible to conceive then (I have a 30 day cycle), but my doctor and all the scans seem to indicate that I'm measuring exactly spot on 25 weeks. Needless to say, it was a big surprise to conceive one month after my previous period, and I wouldn't be surprised if little mister makes his appearance a little earlier than expected...

yeah my dates were about 10 days earlier than the scan i had. i also have a slightly longer than average cycle so that will affect their dates too.

I am 5.2wks pregnant. My cycle varied between 28-34 days. In the cycle we conceived I didn't ovulate til cd23. I would never had known if I hadn't been using OPK's and temping...I would have been doing the dance like crazy around cd14 and given up by cd23. Because I knew my ovulation day exactly they subtract 2wks from that rather than using the first day of your LMP.
    good luck with your pregnancy
