    We have just put up thermal lined drapes throughout our house, I didn't even consider HOW I was going to wash them, any suggestions?

    Uuhhh never. We built this house 21/2 years ago and they havnt even come down yet alone been washed. I don't plan to either unless something bad gets spilled on one.

    They collect dust. I don't know how often the previous owner washed them, but i washed when we moved in and the water came out thick black lol

    For some reason I was expecting "wash your curtains" to be a euphemism for something.
    And was a bit disappointed when I opened the thread.

    So the answer is obviously never, I've never heard of such a thing!

    DH asked if it was about "meat curtains" which I had no idea what that was until he told me. Oh dear

    We have venetians so only wipe them down maybe once a month

    Only when they get grubby but I only have them up at night. during the day I like the sun to come in!
