Has anyone used MCNs on newborns? What should I go for... I don't want them to look bulky so I am leaning more towards the sized nappies.
It won't be long before I have to upgrade though I'm assuming. I'll have to look into the second-hand ones too for that reason.

And how many should I be looking at buying?? I'm going to be a new mum in Dec so I want to be well prepared. What would be a safe minimum?
I didn't use them on a newborn, we started at 10 months (wish we'd done it earlier). Next bub I will from as early as possible but might do disposables the first few weeks. They go through so many nappies, And I have no idea how to do the newborn poo in cloth..

I think I was told min as 24 so you have enough for bub to wear whilst you wash and dry one days worth. It all depends on how often you want to wash and how much you can afford buying at a time.
I built mine up so that I could go a couple days without washing though he was older by then and not using so many in a day.
Any of the stockists or businesses can answer all your questions if you email them.

As for bulkiness, that is why I liked using the itti bitti and MiaMoo ones. He was in large when we started so I loved the osfm not being bulky on him. I'm interested how they will go on this baby when I have him/her

I used mine from birth. I didn't have any dramas with them. I did find the multi fits were bulky on a newborn but the sized ones were terrific.

I tried Itti Bitties but they leaked on my bub so ruled them out pretty early on.

What I would suggest is getting a few of the brands you want to try and test them out because as someone else said what might work for one bub may not work for your bub.

24 is a good number to start with in order to wash every couple of days. My favorites are GroVia, Little Britches, and Bambooty I've been using cloth for 21 months now with my son and am a retailer now as well. I have used Cushie Tushies but they weren't a good fit on DS. I love itti bitti's too but prefer a OSFM and don't love the tuttos - PITA to clean poo off of. I also like Bonnibuns for a good workhorse nappy, that is cost effective. Oh and bcheeks is a good brand too if you like Minky

I have used cloth from about 2 months onwards and I found bambooty to be the trimmest fit. They're also a small fit, so I think the smalls would be great for 4-5kg and under, so perfect for a newborn. My favs at the moment are ittibitti d'lish, I'm not a fan of the tutto. There's a few I wouldn't go for as a newborn as I think they're too bulky, but are great for older.
