Must be hanging around a different crowd to me. I don't really know anyone like that. None of my friends or family look down on other people for what they have / don't have. And neither do I.....

I'm sorry people act that way

I think the ideal goal of most adults is to stand on their own two Feet. And definitely if they have kids. Life doesn't always work out that way. **** happens. And its okay to take help. Be it money from family, centrelink, or any other support. The attitude that its a sign of immaturity or weakness or something if someone requires assistance is a dangerous one. Not saying that is the message of the thread though.
I think helping someone out financially can be a blessing.
I think if it becomes ongoing then a person really requires different support. The problem is of course some people literally don't have money to survive independently.
I have also been someone who always worked. First job at 14 and I worked every single day. If we struggle slightly I work more hours. BUT I have also been unable to work. Once when I was a single pregnant teenager. I took all the help I could get.

Old neighbours, I don't hang around them. Also with the car that was a former workmate. My friends have more respect, whether they have money, family support, or absolutely nothing.
