Default 9 weeks postnatal blood in poo *maybe tmi!*

    Hi,

Freaking out about this (after turning to Dr Google- whoops!) and was wondering if anyone has had anything similar??

Basically for the last two days I have found bright red blood in my poo and when I wipe. There's no pain so I'm thinking it can't be a hemmaroid or fissure.. Can it?? I'm 9 weeks post natal and have only recently finished bleeding and now that I think about it I noticed blood when I was wearing pads in a weird spot- like maybe it had come from my bum. Again, no pain or anything and with all the -having a newborn- chaos I just brushed it aside.

Anyone had anything like this? Will the doc think I'm a time waster?

Also, a couple of days ago I had really weird, bad stomach cramps that lasted about a minute but had me doubled over in pain. Probably not connected and it went away but just stressing now that it could all be something bad???

Anyone been through anything similar? Thanks!

Hemmies aren't always painful, maybe talk to your chemist or GP about the symptoms

Sounds like a hemroid. They are bright red and don't always hurt. I had one a few months ago and didnt know and went to the doc freaking out about the bright red blood I had when I wiped and I had one lol

I had the same a month or two post partum. Apparently bright red blood is better than old, black blood - which comes from further up and can be indicative of gut/bowel/intestinal issues - it's likely a haemorrhoid and you're just lucky you can't feel it (). If it keeps up I'd chat to a chemist. Mine just healed itself in a couple weeks.

ahhhh Google your as bad as me haha, it sure knows how to freak you out. Born to be is absolutely correct that the bright red blood is alot better than darker stuff. I had it after I had my daughter too and it ended up just going away itself. Constipation can sometimes cause it too. Try eat high fibre food to keep your stools soft and drink plenty of water. My friend had the same and was very worried and it turned out to be a small tear in the intestine which also just heals itself. However in saying all this I think if your concerned a doc trip wn't hurt. Good Luck

I had this, thought it was hemmeroids. As it turns out my stitches were infected and the pressure of a bowel movement caused them to bleed.

I'd get it checked out by a GP.

It's most likely a hem but could be something more sinister. A few weeks ago I noticed my DD was bleeding a tiny bit from her bottom. I took her straight to the GP who advised me to go straight to hospital. They did an US on her tummy and found 2 interseceptions (the intestines had telescoped back on themselves). This is usually acompanied by abdominal pain but she was fine. Fortunately they were loose enough that over the next few hours (and a night in hospital) they fixed themselves but if they hadn't have she would have been facing emergency surgery

I have the same thing... Been going on since I was pregnant, DD now 10 months. I probably should get it checked... It's normally after I have a bowel movement it starts to bleed and I notice I get SO itchy!! When I go wipe there's blood. Won't happen for a few weeks then starts again. I will get mine checked if you will....
