I'm not into cars, so I think it's a bit of a waste, but each to their own.

Although, it does occasionally annoy me with some people. My ex boss had a $150k BMW (for which he paid cash), and he loved the status that came with it. He was a showy type of person though. He always made a point of driving with the top down, even if it was ridiculously hot or cold or windy.

I think nothing... Unless they park in two parks hoping that nobody will accidentally damage their precious vehicle. Then I think they're tossers. Lol

No. I don't judge people buy their possessions. However, if that person thinks their car makes them look good, then I judge them by that attitude.
If a person thinks that owning a big flashy car makes them look good, then I tend to judge them as shallow and materialistic. *shrug*.

I know too many people who think that their worth is based on how much money they have, or how many 'toys' they have. I prefer to judge my worth based on how happy I make other people .

Also, I don't define BMWs as 'good' cars. I think they're just cars.

Now a Maserati Quattroporte Sport GTS. THAT'S a good car. *grin*.

I'm the same... A car is a car to me, except when it's a Lamborghini, Maserati, Bugatti etc. I would be pretty impressed by that! Yet, just because you have a swanky car doesn't mean you're a nice person....

I would feel sorry for them as "luxury" cars are not always good cars. You pay for the leather seats more than you pay for a reliable engine. I would suggest they'd better get a membership with the NRMA.

Having lived in the Netherlands for 20 years (next to Germany where most of these luxury cars are manufactured), I always was less than impressed with counting the amount of broken down German brand cars along the high ways.
Out of all the broken down cars, I believe half of them were a German luxury car like Mercedes, BMW, Audi, etc.

I just figure they've got more money to spend on a car than I do! There's a moment of envy, but it's the same kind of envy I have for people who can afford a decent holiday or a mortgage and it passes within a few seconds.

Actually, in The Netherlands, you'll find that a lot of the middle eastern immigrants drive brand new luxury cars like convertible Rovers, Audi TT's, Mercedes Benz Kompressors, etc.

They spend all their (benefit) money on a car, as that is the status symbol they choose over a decent house to live in with their family.
Instead they live in an old and unstable 2 bedroom unit with 5 kids, their wife, mother, mother in law, etc. No furniture to sit on, no food to eat, etc.
