Yes an inheritance from my granny when I was in my early 20's. Used that to travel. All our parents chipped in to help with our home deposit, we told them we weren't going to get married so we'd love for them to help us with a house deposit instead of helping pay for a wedding.

I think i won $5 on the Melbourne Cup one year too.

    Me too!

If I send some $ via Western Union they will be able to release it to me. Exciting!

When my ex died, I was chased up for one of his loans...in doing that I found out he had life insurance and I was the beneficiary. I spent time with his family going through paperwork and was willing for them to take it all or share it.
They flat out refused and trusted that he would have wanted to see me moving forward with it. Therefore I consider that a 'gift' from them. Such lovely lovely people.

We have been very very lucky. My in laws gave us a deposit for our house (30k) . They are not rich by any means but just very generous and have worked very hard for what they have. We were absolutely shocked and so grateful. That was about 6 years ago and it still blows me away! There have been other times aswell from them or my parents giving us 'gifts' between $2000- $10,000. Each time we have made sure to use it on something worthwhile like renovating the house or paying off debt. I am fully aware how lucky I am to have received these amounts of money.

Have never won money, but then again, you have to be in it to win it.
Hey witwicky welcome back! How was your holiday? Didn't you go to Europe?
