    Default Antibiotics without infection

My doctor (new) has now twice given me antibiotics 'just in case'.
I do not believe in taking meds if there is nothing wrong. The first time he told me they were 'just in case' I had a chest infection and the second time (Im guessing the same reason) he didnt even tell me he had givin me the script. Just handed me a script which were forte and then after I finished one box (the forte) I went to get the new one and found they were antibiotics... So I threw them out.

Is there any negative effects of taking some antiB's if I dont have an infection? I have been tested and found there isnt infections and it just angers me that he keeps giving me them even though there isnt anything infected. I ended up cracking it at him because he kept telling me to shut up and listen to him even though he kept repeating himself so I got angry because I was sick of the same thing over and over.
So yeah, if anyone knows if there is any danger I would be greatful.

You definitely shouldn't take ABs if it's not needed. Your dr sounds very incompetent and tbh you should change to a different one again.

Yeah the only reason I have been there those two times is because I couldnt afford the 50 for my doctor and the second time was coz my car wasnt safe to drive the distance to my old one.

They can interfere with the contraceptive pill.
My brothers gf had an accidental pregnancy this way.
Yeah I would not go back to that doctor! Mainly coz he told you to shut up!
Hope you are feeling better xx

    Oh dear that's not good

I hope you can find a better dr who will bulk bill and also close to home for you.

I know what it's like when you see a dr who clearly has NO idea what they are doing.

I had an after hour GP come out as I had a bad UTi and needed ABs. He asked me what my dr gave me for my last one, and I was like wtf I don't remember lol!

Yeah after he told me to shut up and listen I lost it. He was very taken back He is the third male in a short time to tell me to 'shut up' 'learn when to keep your mouth shut' because a MAN wants to talk over me! i dont take kindly to that sort of abuse.
I was worried it might have a bad reaction with my immune system, because it was already down at the time and I have a history with getting thrust from them so I dont WANT to take them haha And for the fact that I dont want my immune system to not be able to fight an actual infection because my doctor keeps pumping me with drugs lol

Abs can definitely affect your immune system. Try some pro biotics that should help you a little

Your body will also build up an immunity to antibiotics if you constantly take them. I don't understand why docs are so quick to perscribe them.

I had a doctor recently who prescribed me antibiotics but they were the wrong ones for the infection I had and so I didn't use them ,but then again I had to question if she was really a qualified doctor as she didn't even know how to take my BP properly and told me I had low BP in my left arm?? I had another one before that didn't examine me and just prescribed drugs and again it was at a dodgy bulk billing practice. Makes me wonder if they really are qualified doctors or just faking it.
