Default Birthday gift ideas for 12yr old girl

DH and I have No idea what to get Dsd for her bday!

She was an only child and seems older than 12 with some of her interests so we can't think of anything other than an Ipad but then what do we get her for xmas?

She has an ipod, Tv and CD player/Docking station, she has my old GHD's a make up case(only for special occasions)
    Anyone have any ideas?

ETA: We are having 10 friends out for dinner as her party and a cake of her choice so I was thinking money to buy new clothes, shoes and anything else she may like (within reason)

How about tickets to a play or musical? So she can go with her dad, or you, whoever she chooses, one of you

I personally think experiences are much better than presents.

And dressing up, going to the theatre, having a hot chocolate out after the performance.. buying the program.. they are things that stay in memories and don't get lost under beds.

Or classes for something new and interesting? Kickboxing, or a martial art, or a sculpting course... build on her natural interests.

My niece was the same, she was given a really nice handbag, clothes vouchers, smiggle stuff and a phone.

Even things like manicure and pedicure.

How about a voucher for a large shopping centre so she can go and have a pick her own clothes.

    A digital camera

Voucher to get her hair done, colored and cut if she is allowed

Make up and perfume and other girly things.

Day out to a theme park
