What's so bad about it? On and off over the last year or so heard silicone in hair products is the devil of additives, but isn't most everything in hair stuff a chemical or additive of some description? I've also read articles in support of silicone products for some hair types, majority being fine hair.
Can anyone enlighten the situation? Is silicone really that bad? And how do I even tell if the stuff I use has silicone in it?

I'm pretty sure the reason was that it coated the hair to make it feel smooth but it builds up on the hair shaft.
Hopefully someone in the know replies.
