Haha yep! I find the assumptions about a lot of things quite odd.

Sahms sit around watching Dr Phil and sipping lattes.
working mums sit on facebook all day and have their breaks at work
mums who work at home have their breaks because they work, they get to watch dr phil and they get paid through the nose! Wow, luckiest of the lot!

Oh man I had DD in the office with me on most weeks from 10 weeks until she was 10 months. And on the face of it it sounds great - an employer willing to let me take my baby to work with me? Win. Yay for a flexible workplace.

But in reality it was such a struggle. Hats off to WAHMs who get anything done.

I agree. I tried to take my son to work as a newborn and also work from home, and got nothing done. I found by the time I sat down to do anything, he would want something or I would be exhausted. It would take me three times as long to get anything done.

I think you'll find that people were offended other comments, not OPs.

Please do not try to say she can't have a vent in this forum about this. Even if her vent is illogical so long as its not offensive she gets to have that whinge or a vent.

She didn't say her friend couldn't have a whinge, she said that her friends constant whining about being a SAHM was upsetting her. Kudos to the op for not attacking her friend, going onto her friends wall or posting on FB something she knows will upset her friend. Maybe all he op needed was for someone to say that they understand and give her a cyber hug.

I've been both as well, and to be honest, I whinge and hate whichever one I am doing at the moment. Last year I was whinging because I was a working parent. This year I am whinging because I am a SAHM. You can't win!
