    Default Aversion to red meat?

I am 14 weeks and really struggling with this at the moment.

I normally eat red meat no worries bur I feel like throwing up everything i cook it for the family and cannot eat it no matter what.

Anyone else have / had this? Does it go away?

I had a similar aversion to fish particularly salmon with DS. It lasted the entire pregnancy and about a month after.

This time around no such aversion.

You may find it passes. Our bodies do strange things to us when there is a lil one on board

Yep I had this up until I was about 18 weeks (currently 25 weeks) & I took an iron supplement during this time. I used to LOVE red meat before getting pregnant, I still struggle to eat steak now & it's not something I crave but can stomach red meat & eat it cause it's good for me. My tastes have changed a lot since getting pregnant. Hope it eases up soon for u :-)

I have heard that red meat aversions are very common, particularly the smell while cooking. I have had a number of friends who completely went off of meat during pregnancy.

I was the opposite - usually I don't eat a great deal of red meat, but while pregnant I craved it.

I asked my gp about an iron supplement in early pregnancy as mine was low. He said iron worsens morning aickness so to wait until the morning sickness had gone.

So its very common for meat especially red meat to make u wanna puke.

Hope u feel better soon xox

I went thru the early stages of my pregnancy the same. I could cook meat for the family but I couldn't eat it, my stomach would churn just at the thought of eating it and if I did attempt it, it wouldn't take long before it would come back up. I'm now 23wks and still have some aversion to it. Prior to this pregnancy, I loved red meat and only ate chicken maybe once a month. When the aversion to red meat started, chicken became my best friend and still is now.

Yes. Didn't have it first time round but the thought makes me feel sick this time - I'm 12 weeks. Mince is ok but not steak. DH has been really good about it but has requested steak and chips tonight

I get this too, lamb is the worst (i feel like spewing just writing 'lamb' ).
It is quite common and will hopefully pass, it usually does for me around the middle of pregnancy.

    How's the serenity?
