    Default Hemorrhoids

Anyone get hemorrhoids while pregnant? How did you deal with them?

Hi there, yes, I have them- mainly internal but sometimes external. I first got them after giving birth to DS1 and they have come and gone ever since. I use a cream that my Dr gave me (I don't know what it is called, it is like a generic product, although I am sure you can get a cream over the counter at a chemist). I also use prune juice and movicol so I don't strain at all to go to the toilet. Mine also flaired up as a result of delivering bubs- they can be quite painful!

My friend's mother had them after giving birth to my friend. It seems like her case was fairly mild. She changed her diet to incorporate as much vegetables as possible, and applied some cream, and felt much better.

I believe a combination of topical treatments (eg. the cream) and a good diet is one of the best combo too.

Yup I got them from delivering my daughter. One thing I found helped was using the muscles in the opposite way to what caused them - so all day I would basically be clenching my butt muscles. I think this played a huge role in clearing them up within less than a week!!

Ive got a big one and I just use cream called rectinol (another one called anisol) . It is painful but metamucil every day helps. It is shrinking slowly. (4week old bub)

Another doc told me to use either coffee or sugar on them as they dry them out.

My OBS said to drink pear juice and take the Metamucil. Worked a treat. He also gave me a prescription for Scheriproct ointment which was AMAZING. So much better then the over the counter chemist stuff.
