Default A Little Tired Of Hearing About It All

I spose you could class this as a bit of a vent but I am tiring very fast of all the carry on from kids education (starting earlier & earlier), vaccines, dicipline etc etc. What happened to kids just being kids. Everyone will have their ways or wanting or doing things but I think that fits to your own personal lifestyle & family. Everywhere you go these days someone is wanting to debate about an issue. I believe kids should just be let kids as your only a kid once and from there you have many years of pressure being and adult. I'm especially tired of the vaccine issue, either you do or you don't simple!!! Everything from TTC, pregnancy, birth and paranting has contraversy surrounding it and its driving me crazy.. All I know is my kids will be puddle jumping in the rain, getting all dirty from having a blast playing in the backyard, laughing at & doing silly things and also getting a good ol smack on the bum when called for

Please can we go back to the way it used to be and just RELAX

If you are sick of hearing about pregnancy and parenting choices perhaps a pregnancy and parenting forum isn't a great place to hang out?

Hey Blondi I couldn't agree more! Everything seems like such a competition between parents and that's so silly! I fully believe in respecting the parenting choices that other people make and would like to think others respect my choices. How someone else raises their kids has nothing to do with me. I might not agree with some things they do but I don't try to tell them how to live their lives!!! I think we are all doing the best we can and should try to support each other not make others feel bad because they don't do things our way. Totally agree with you ))

I know Chippa, thats what it should be about advice and support but (majority not) make you feel like you are doing the wrong thing. I just think everyone has their own way of wanting to do things and sometimes just need support and general advice not the 'YOU MUST DO THIS' type of stuff. I just miss old fashion style

If you don't want to debate the vaccine issue, then don't. Easy.

My mother thinks we have far more choices and relaxed ways of parenting than when she had her kids and you didn't question anything you were told. I actually like being challenged in my beliefs. I've learned a lot from this

So what's the difference to you having this opinion and others having theirs?

You are entitled to it, so are they.

If you don't like it, don't read/participate in it.

Just because these parents have their opinions does not mean that their kids don't get to be 'kids'.

That's what parenting is all about. You, as the adult, making the decisions that you see fit, so that your children can be safe and happy.

Also, a lot of people (ie, me!) actually use these forums to find out about what other people are doing, to ask advice, to get other people's opinions. If people stopped debating and having opinions about things, how would people like me, with my first bub on the way, learn anything? I personally like to hear what others think so that I can make up my own mind. If you don't care or want to know what others are doing, then why read the forums?
