    Default Ques

Hi ladies. I just registered after finding this site when I was searching for reviews about Fertility Choices and Cathie Sanchez. I'm grateful for finding this site after reading Sly's messages in this thread and a separate ED thread with Lozby an Petals. I've been in contact with Cathie Sanchez and just like Sly shared, Cathie told me about the Thai donor shortage and the donor reservation fee, as well. However, Cathie didn't tell me about the $500 fee for her answering further questions that Petals mentioned. I'm now expecting Cathie to spring that $500 fee next.

Sly - did Cathie respond in a more timely manner after the Thai new year holiday? Did you have any other concerns about her or her staff? Given what you know now, would you recommend Cathie or Fertility Choices to others? Before I pay the expensive donor reservation fee, I wanted to learn if your experience with her improved. Have you flown to Thailand for your transfer yet? If not, when are you scheduled to do so? Best of luck if you haven't yet!

Lozby - did I read correctly from a separate thread that you're now pregnant from your ED with Fertility Choices/Cathie? If so, much congrats!!! I'm relieved to have read your success on so many levels, but for me selfishly, it gives me hope that it could also happen to me and that Cathie/Fertility Choices aren't frauds/schemers about to steal the expensive reservation fee and never get back to me after it's paid. Do you gave any lessons learned or recommendations for me and others like me who are about to start on our journeys with Cathie? Would you still recommend Cathie?

Petals - you got pregnant from All IVF, didn't you? If so, very much congrats to you, as well!!! Same with you, any lessons learned or tips from going through All IVF?

    Thank you, ladies!

    Hi Stork and everyone,

I have written agents on the other thread - 'egg donors recipients thread'
which I should put here. Cathie has got a good reputation so no worries there.
If she is charging a donor reservation fee is this a deposit that comes off her total price?

Other agents I know of for people to research are:
Tammy Charles (aust lady now based in Bangkok had surrogacy with Thai donor, and had twins).
has set up 'all ivf surrogacy'. Not related to All ivf clinic.
Kay & Nina - Bangkok agency. Check the egg donor recipient thread for the name or google and you will find it. Very reputable. Agents in Australia get their egg donors from here!
Become Parents - Garuv- this guy bends over backwards to send you donor profiles, will happily set up Skype meetings with egg donors, answers emails within 1 day. We nearly went through him. He is a straight shooter and explains everything. He has helped Aust couples with surrogacy.
NewLife - huge database of Thai and Caucasian egg donors. Very reputable clinic.
Miracle Ivf - some aust lady on eggdonation aust had her ivf through this clinic

Safe Fertility- Dr Wiwat- another good clinic I have read people use.
All-ivf - Dr Pisit. I went through him and yes am pregnant! He is very busy and getting busier as he still does delivering babies too.

Honestly their protocol is basically the same as Australia so go through with your FS and go for it! Crinone is more expensive to buy in Thailand than here so although the clinic give you some, take more of your own.
I wish everyone on this journey a positive pregnancy and soon

Petals and Lozby - thank YOU for being so sweet in taking the time to share your good long list of agencies/clinics, your knowledge, and experiences!!! I learned a lot from you in the few hours that I've been on this site, and you've lifted a huge worry/paranoia suspicion about the clinic off of my shoulders. I appreciate it! You're very inspiring! Please keep us updated with your pregnancy progress, Petals (I'm pregnancy dreaming vicariously through you ), and your transfer and thereafter progress, Lozby.

Would you two mind sharing which hotel and/or accoms package you chose during your Thailand stay? My turn won't be for another 4-10 months depending on the availability of our preferred donor, but wanted to ask now when it's still fresh for you. Also, did you pay extra to have your donors get the Counsyl genetics testing or some variations of this testing before you ultimately chose your donor? The few tests they run are so high-level that I'm debating if I should pay for this before nailing down the donor.

Lozby - what a relief to have your lining ready to go now! When is your transfer? I can't wait to hear about your transfer! By the way, did Cathie apply the donor reservation fee to your final invoice? I loved reading that you met other IPs there - too bad we can't sync our cycles to meet there, lol.

Is there a way to combine the similar threads into one, or at least to link them? I suspect there's not but thought I ask.

    Hi Lozby,
I read you are ready to go! I wish all goes smoothly and successfully for you.
sticky vibes, great lining and lots of babydust.

Project Stork - we didn't do genetic testing. It was $3000AUD I think extra. The Dr there said as our donor was 22 years young that less likely genetic disease. Only if we wanted PGD for sex selection which we did not require. Plus sometimes removing cells can weaken the embryos so we didn't want to risk losing any.
As for packages?..we booked the airflights online once I had a dated schedule. However be prepared to change flights due to lots of factors!. The egg donors period came earlier which changed her EPU day. Hence we went a few days earlier. Always good to do that anyhow for sperm to be ready. Accommodation we booked also online direct with the hotel at the last minute. Basically we had to change that too but it all works out fine.

Accommodation - Best advice depending what clinic you use is - find out which BTS skytrain stop your clinic is closest to and clinics address. Google Maps -BTS skytrain Bangkok and print out the station map and names. Then when you google hotels near 'x' station or read tripadvisor for a hotel near that station you will get many. You can actually do google maps on the clinic or hotels actual address and a photo comes up of the street where you can actively 'Walk' the street on your computer seeing everything like you are actually there! That's how I found out how close the clinic was to the BTS station.
    Happy planning

Aw, you ladies are so sweet! Thank you for the kind offer, TwoCam! I'll take you up on that when we go to Thailand. We received confirmation yesterday afternoon that the donor agreed to do one last cycle but it won't be till Nov. I'm excited and grateful she agreed to do it for us. I'm selfishly now trying to rush the long months away so we can start :-). I'll ping you then for accom recommendations; thanks again!
