Hi there - it can take a couple of weeks to really kick in unfortunately but you generally notice a difference in a couple of days. Try sucking the dissolved tablet up into a syringe and use the dummy to help them suck it down. My one's always had her dosage split morning and night to give more coverage throughout the day - but depends on the dosage I guess. The other thing to remember is docs often give a really small dose straight up to see if there's any improvement but it might not be enough. So don't be afraid to go back and keep tweaking with your doc til you get it right.

Good luck. Also, remember, more info and other reflux mums at www.reflux.org.au

    Thanks for your reply.
I did think i noticed a difference in a couple of days but now it seems to be back where he was with the cough and like poking his tongue out and gagging kind of thing.. So i may go to the doc again and see what he says.. Thank you!

Oh ick. Hard going isn't it? You getting any sleep?

When I didn't have the dosage right, I used to use a bit of panadol or mylanta (or sometimes both) to help give a bit of relief and settle. Neither are a long term solution but they can help tide you over til you get to see the doc. Don't be afraid to ask for a paed referral if you're not getting anywhere (and ask for someone who knows a bit about gut issues).

    Fingers crossed for you.

Save yourself some money and put books or bricks under the feet at the head of the cot to elevate it. That way you can adjust it to suit your bub and you aren't limited to the angle of a specific wedge.
