Mom2oneDS before the dyson i too owned a Wierthiem...biggest watse of money ever cost over $400 had to be repaired 2 times in first 2 years, Godfreys were crap and service awful. Had same smell problem and at 2 year mark went and bought dyson. So much better and was cheaper. from memory Godfreys refuse to stock Dysons and have nothing but bad things to say about them, but rave about Wierthiem. Only got Wierthiem as mum in law had one..she had nothing but problems too, when i got Dyson she went and bought another Wierthiem (?? yes Godfreys convinced her they were still the best $800) She just replaced her Wierthiem again...yet Dyson still going great here.....NEVER GO TO GODFREYS!! Hope you get your new vacuum soon

We've got a Miele too, the model above the cat and dog one .. It's the white one, hospital grade one or something like that. It was the best one for asthmatics so that's why we got it. Our home is pretty much all floor boards so the basic model would have been sufficient.
