Default Loss Mucus Plug at 27 weeks.

As the title reads I started to lose my mucus plug at 27 weeks. I rang the hospital where i an due to give birth and they told me to watch for contractions and back pain and that was it (way to scare a girl) plus i think the nurse was really busy and she didnt need my phone call.

I had one moment where I thought I was going into labour but I think it could have strong Braxton hicks and they subsided after and hour or so.

I am now 28 weeks and I don't actually remember losing it with DS so I don't really know what the length of time between losing it and labour starting, would someone be able to give me an idea?

Your body makes a mucus plug every cycle between ovulation and your period. It also rejuvenated the one you have when pregnant so it's quiet possible your body will grow another one. Has your cervix changed at all?

I lost my mucus plug a few days before DD was born, didnt loose it with the boys (not that I noticed) it could of come away during labour.

My cervix has remained closed and my fluid is still ok. Although I am still losing big blobs of my mucus plug.

Just thought I'd add that I started losing mine at 34 weeks, with a bloody show and contractions, but they stopped and I went on til 38 weeks when labour started. Losing your plug can go on for ages. As the nurse said, you should only be concerned if other symptoms begin to appear. Hope that helps

I lost parts of mine post intercourse between 30 and 35 weeks, but OB said it meant very little as our bodies are rejuvenating them all the time.

We have been told not to DTD since 11 weeks as I have had placenta bleeding since then and am still having it.
