Thanks everyone for your replies. She has a Paed checkup on Wed anyway so am going to discuss it then. The GP last week said that noises were normal but I don't think she realized how loud they are! What is interesting is that she doesn't do it during the day and not when she is first put to bed but only from about 1 onwards or so. It's almost like when she has already been lying down for a while, it starts? My Dad (who looked after her for an hour last night) noticed that she seems to be struggling to get out of her sleeping bag do we are going to try one size bigger too.

Oh and her lips are not blue but she does breathe really fast at such times too. It seems to have gotten worse over the last week or so which makes me think growing out of the sleeping bag may be an issue too

Thanks for asking. Dr said it was normal as she is in good health. We are debating taking her out of our room to get a bit more sleep I guess we just have a noisy little girl! She has slept a bit better the last few nights. I'm up now for a feed but she only awoke once at 2.30 otherwise so she may be more comfortable

Oh and the Dr said that early morning and late afternoon are times when she would be more prone to this. I can't remember specifically why but it explains why we only notice it at 2-3ish

Glad that everything is ok for you and your bubs. My DS did this a lot also, which I too found to be 'normal'. For DS it turned out that he had a lot of wind. Ds also was blue around the lips, which was another indicator of a windy baby. By around 3 months, he eventually grew out of it.
Did your doc mention that it may be wind?

Not specifically but she is pretty windy too. She grunted for about five mins this morning and then let out a fart followed by a sigh of relief! It was the funniest thing ever and DH and I cracked up. We have noticed less grunting the past few nights but babies are a bit random and she seems to change her habits from day to day!
