    Default Question about NT testing..

    Hello,

hope this is in the right spot.
I went for my NT scan and bloods yesterday and i am a week less pregnant than i though i was (11 weeks instead of 12) so they asked me to come back next week to re-scan me. I had my bloods taken.

My question is.. Will the blood take at 11 weeks still be ok to test? Or do i need to have blood taken on the same day as the scan?

I hope this made sense. I tried to call my midwife today but couldnt get through to her, so any advice would be great.

    Thanks

nuchal bloods are best done at 10 weeks, scan 12 weeks and no later than 13.5 weeks

your bloods should be ok at 11 weeks, ideally you have them done between 10/11 weeks. not much later than 11 weeks.

thanks for the reply. i thought so too, but after dr. googling i have found some sites recommending that the tests were done within 48 hours of each other.

    not a problem

I work in the admin side of radiology, otherwise I'd have no idea either!

my friend was told to have her nuchal testing at 20 weeks by her dr. I told her to change drs asap.

Best to check with your midwife to be sure. There is conflicting info around. My ob recommended they be done 3 days prior to the scan for the best accuracy but I know others have been advised to have bloods done at 10wks. Good luck with your results.

I was also advised to have bloods at 10 weeks and scan at 12 weeks, but when in doubt always ask your health care provider as they may do things differently.
    Good luck.

I got a pamphlet which says blood testing is best done at 10 weeks but can be done up until 12. The scan at the latest to be done 13weeks 6 days, but is most accurate at 12.

My GP said to get bloods done a day or so before the scan.. But after I read the pamphlet n spoke to the midwife she clarified it doesn't need to be done within days. Its best 10 weeks for blood n 12 weeks for scan.

With both my nuchal tests, I had bloods done at 11 weeks, and scans at 12. That's from 2 diff OBs, so I think u should be fine

You can have your bloods taken any time after 10 weeks. You can have them up until 13+6 weeks which is the latest you can have your FTS (first trimester screen) done.

Bloods taken in week 11 is absolutely perfect
