Default what will you be doing during school holidays????

1 more week of school and im determined to have a list of things to do each day to keep me sane before school holidays start. I have 2 boys (6 and 4) and a 14 month girl. Id love to take them to the movies (oldest ones) as theres ice age and spiderman BUT thats expensive so my alternate is to make some cardboard box cars rent a heap of movies make some snacks and theres something to do every 2nd day lol, theres the usual art/craft, playdough, painting but i want some more in depth activities.

Its also been super cold so we will be inside most days but if weather is acceptable we might go feed the ducks or get some cheap hot chips and have a picnic. I really want some cheap down to earth ideas too something thatll be just wow never thought of that. Any ideas???

I will be at a after school day care centre doing vacation care. We will be going to all the touristy spots around. I started work during the holidays last term and it is so awesome as we are travelling and my eldest son and I get to go to all the cool spots for free, although I am working....

As for ideas when I am programming I look on the net, there is a great site for ideas something about kid and spot. Have at least one day that you go to the shops and playing with all the buttons on the toys!!!

On the side of this page is activity sheets for a movie! Print them out.

Have a messy day- make gloop and finger paint etc. Make cubby houses inside out of the table and sheets and serve lunch in there new house!

Have a cooking day- make ice-cream from sweet condensed milk and cream plus any flavour or colouring you desire!

Have you got any camping gear? Set up a tent inside and get some chairs etc. or use a sheet and cushions. Look up recipes for damper to cook while camping!

Get an old sheet and some paints and let the kids go nuts.

Get some butchers paper or a roll of white gift paper and let the kids paint it. Then you have personalized gift wrap for birthdays or Christmas.

Look for events that are being held around the world. We recently had a Pasadena Chalk Festival where the kids had a competition using chalk and drawing murals. They also had duct tape day. In Avon in Cleveland I think, they have a day where they make stuff our of duct tape. The kids loved this. They had wooden art stuff to use with it like small blocks and wheels shapes and paddle sticks etc. You could use anything though.
