    Default Baby Bonus

Sorry for using Bubhub to ask this but I have no one else to ask.
How long did it take for your baby bonus to come through?
we filled out and returned the forms over 3 weeks ago now, but there
was no where to fill in bank details so we're assuming they will be in contact with us for that info?
    am I right?
we have been ringing and ringing and just can NOT get anyone on the phone.
If anyone has received their bonus lately could you tell me what the process was, I'm pretty sure we didn't have any of these issues last time round.

    TIA

I was told it can take up to 28 days from the time you lodged your form, to get the first payment & to only contact them if you have been waiting longer than that, but i didn't know this so i contacted them after 2 weeks & the lady i spoke to on the phone finalized the payment over the phone for me & the first payment went in 2 days later They had my account details already though as we receive FTB & it just goes in the same account as that.

you now need to provide them your bank details and tax file numbers if you havnt ..

i did that in centrelink and still heard nothing so called them waited 30min on hold then they completed it on the spot. don't know why they didn't once i went in and gave tfn and bank details.. but anyway just give them a call and be prepared to wait or go in and wait the same time or more anyway..

Thanks ladies, so I will make the call to ask, but have all our info on hand to give them. If they tell me to go to a centre after that I will, but last time I went to a centre all it was was a call centre, I got to speak with no one other than the girl on the desk, who pointed me to a phone booth
Ive never had to use the centers before so I don't know if that's normal set up or if I should be going elsewhere.
    ok, thanks again

Yeah... It's centrelink. I waited 9 weeks for mine. Due to them needing "more information" an not contacting me to tell me that.

The info they needed was already filled out in the form. They just didn't read it properly. (i take copies of all forms filled in so I know what I've sent them)

I had to call them 3 times, wait on hold for over an hour every time and still managed to get screwed around for another 3 weeks.

I would call them and do it over the phone. Annoying to be on the phone that long, yes, but easier than waiting in the centrelink office with a baby IMO.

Is the payment split into 13 payments or is it a one off benefit? We don't receive any benefits from Centrelink but are eligible for the baby bonus.

Yeah 13 fortnightly payments. The first payment is $800 ish (closer to $900) and then 12 payments of $397.77.
