All the door knockers used to harrass me regularly until I moved here 6 foot fence all the way around with a gate that I lock yay!!

anyone I want to see knows my number and calls or txts ahead

mind you the few times Ive left it unlocked or the garage open they always got in! Its like they were waiting out there haha!

I have a video intercom door bell, when you press the bell the video turns on - both day and night. If i dont know who it is then i dont answer the door. Ive only been caught out once in 4 years, that was because i was expecting my brother so when the doorbell went i didnt bother to check.

I also have VOIP - no marketing phone calls ever in the 4 years i have had it.

    Lol
My front door has glass panels and DS always seems to be looking out the door when people come door knocking. I'd rather hide but I answer the door and pretend he has to eat or sleep. I've also said I'm a nanny and DH has told them he's a tradie doing a job as he always has his work clothes on.

the picture of paradise on the brochure had a moose in the picture. he said "wouldnt you love to live in paradise" and I said actually I'm pretty happy with where I live. lol.

there was also snow capped maintained. I didnt point out MY paradise has beaches and warm water and white sand. I moved away from snow capped mountains!!!

I wont answer if I see door knockers approaching, but if I'm ever caught out, I've been saying "I have my child in the bath, sorry" for years now. Always works.

In our last house we had a sign that said "if you havn't called ahead, please do not knock"

Worked for all sales people and unwanted visitors (eg dad 'dropping in for a visit' on his way to work at 6am, sister turning up with all kids for extended visits when I'm cramming for exams etc)

In our current house, our friends&family access via the back/side door. If anyone knocks on the front door, I know it's door knockers & ignore
