    Default Is this stealing?

I have worked in hospitality for a long time, and there is this one lady I've served a number of times at 4 different restaurants.

She comes in with a big group of people (never under 10, most I've seen is 25)

They are all lovely people and I've always gone above & beyond to provide them excellent service

At the end of the meal, everyone 'throws in' their 'share' of the bill PLUS a 'tip for the waitstaff' (I have heard them saying 'don't forget your $5/$2/$10 tip etc etc')

Then this one lady, brings the bill up to pay. Pockets the cash. Puts it on her credit card AND never 'tips'.

I'm not going to get into 'is tipping right or wrong' but this really annoys me.

Especially the time she had $25 guests who were tipping $5 each. This adds up to $125.. And she didn't tip a dime on her card.

Today i served her and a group again & as always she paid on her card. I didn't hear any talk of tipping, but I can't help but wonder..

Anyway, do you agree this is stealing?

If your friend did this, would you be mad?

Do you think I have the right to say something to her in future?

I'd be mad if a friend did it, I think it's very dishonest!

Eta yes I'd say something if it where my friend and I found out but no I don't think it's your place to say anything.

Yeah, I'd consider that stealing. She's stealing the tips! I'd be mad if my friend did that, absolutely.

Yep, it's stealing imo. The money was intended as tips, not for her to pocket. I'm outraged someone would do that.

Profiting from her friends without them knowing - how rude and quite brazen of her.
Could you print an extra receipt next time and after she walks over to her table rush over saying oh you forgot your credit card receipt for $xx and mention the amount and hope someone in the group picks up on it
