    Default Do obstetrician for $2000k-$3000k really exist???

    Hi all
    I've heard of some mothers paying $2000k-$3000k for obstetrician in Melbourne. Has anyone paid this much for their obstetrician? I am paying $4500 and thought I had a great deal. what is everyone else's experience? names of obstetrician will be great! Good luck mothers

    I think his fees were around $1800 and I was out of pocket around $300. This is about an hour from Melbourne.

    Yep I live on the qld sunshine coast and we are paying $2100 at 20 weeks ( a management plan) and that's it. Everything else, hospital, etc is covered by the health fund.

    Yep I have just booked into mine and his management fee is $2500 all appointments other than the initial appointment ($230 with $104 back from Medicare) are all bulk billed, the only other thing onto is my 20w ultrasound (I don't do the NT scan).
    He is a wonderful supportive OB who attended and delivered DS

    Do you get much back on Medicare? I paid around $5k but got back just over $1k from Medicare. Unfortunately that's the price for the good ones

    Good ones? You mean the ones who choose to charge more than the Medicare cap

    Yeouch! That hurts. Mine was awesome....And classed as a very very "good one".

    I'm seeing one of the top private obs practices in Brisbane and the pregnancy management fee is $2895.
