Thanks for the pep talk girls, it seems like a 7 week scanis the norm. So far this whole journey seems to have been an exercise in patience – not my strongest point in case you hadn’t guessed!

Meshell you are doing so well in waiting for your scan. I agree about putting the money towards your NT, they are so expensive.

Hang in there Sel, it isn’t all in your head!

GirlX I have everything crossed (even my legs, not that we’re not TTC anymore!) for Thursday. I really hope you get the good news you deserve.

Rachael I had a cheeky BT that I organised myself through my GP but my clinic only does one unless the HCG levels are low in which case they schedule another for two days after the first.

Nicsta it is still so early for symptoms, try not to read too much into it – easier said than done I know!

Rafiki you have your scan the day after mine – we can wait impatiently together!

Amy that is wonderful news! I’m so happy for you.

    SL how are you doing?

    Welcome JuniorD and good luck!

Phew, hope I haven’t missed anyone.

AFM – My HCG levels came back at 1041! My HCG with my daughter was 476 on the same day so we are thinking there is a very real possibility of twins! Whether there is one or two we are just so thrilled to have got this far. My scan is in three weeks (or a million years away if you are as impatient as me!) so we’re crossing everything that we’ll see a nice strong heartbeat… or two!

Tootyfruity - Those numbers are great! Hmmm.... maybe twins....???

Amy - The old wives tale is something to do with a higher heartbeat being a girl and a lower one being a boy, but I don't think there's any science behind it!

    JuniorD - Welcome! And congratulations!

Meshell - Yes, I think this whole baby business seems to be about temporary relief followed by waiting for the next bit of relief! Hope all goes well for you and that you can stay busy until the scan. Going to the gym is definitely a good thing. And you will not get FAT - pregnant is a very different thing to fat!!! With my first pregnancy I ended up the same size and looking pretty much the same a few months after, and I am older than you (32 at first pregnancy), so don't worry! I think if you stay active, and don't use pregnancy as an excuse to go crazy with food, then you should be fine.

In my first pregnancy I struggled so much with my changing body shape, and I now look back and wished I hadn't worried about it. Looking back at the photos I looked fine (although didn't feel it at the time), and I'm determined to enjoy it and embrace it this time around! Pregnancy is beautiful.

Well, d-day tomorrow for me. I'm terrified. Didn't help reading a thread on here about a poor lady who had no HB at 5 weeks (which I would have thought was normal), but went on to lose the baby.

A lot of the nausea has gone, although it comes and goes a bit, and I never really had sore b00bs. Still weeing all the time (!) and I have indigestion a lot - like hiccuping and doing little burps a lot! (TMI??) I'm not so worried about the symptoms as I didn't really have any with DD - only very mild ones, and that was fine, but they do still reassure you when you feel them!

The nurse this morning told me to start progesterone pessaries again - is that normal? I thought the progesterone stopped once you had a positive BT? I need to check what I did last time when I get home but wondered what your ruses/doctors told you?
Hey tooty - my progesterone will not be stopping until 13 weeks at least...

Girl X - I have heard that dr carmody is wonderful at what he does. I went to my Gp to get a referral and the doctor said wow you going straight to the big guy himself I was taken aback but apparently he just ment dr carmody has a great reputaion.

SL1009 - Clawing at my uterus is nothing in comparison to what I email my mother on a weekly basis haha. I send her pictures of what it should look like. I give her updates on when it is growing ear flaps and getting webbed feet. She is appalled she asked i she could just wait til its all cooked and beautiful. To which I responded I want her in the room to catch it when it comes out of my vag. hahaha my poor mother

We had a positive on our 4th IVF cycle. Over the moon, but nervous too. Bloods looking great. Our scan to detect the heartbeat is Friday. I am excited & nervous. Like many of you not too many signs to make it real yet.

Fingers crossed. Good luck to you all!!
JuniorD Congratulations and Welcome - Yaaay! 4th Cycle has been the successful one for us too : ) xx

I am starting to get over this waiting. I want to make sur I am still pregnant and baby heartbeat is nice and strong. I am getting a hard little lump above my pubic bone I am guessing this is the start of a baby bump. I have been to gym twice this week so far and plan on going most days even if its just 30minutes on the treadmill I want preg belly and not the bum thighs fat face that some women get. I have just come to the realisation that I am going to get fat and this terrifies me I have never been larger than a size 8. I was talking to a friend last night and said if this happened when I was 20 I would have all the confidence that I would snap back I am 25 now dont know if the elastine in the body is as good. I want new born baby and smoking body. haha bain hey.
Hun you're not the only one I'm 27 and have always been a size 8 - I have put on soooo much weight already for the medication plus I have been eating like a horse the last few weeks - I really need to take it easy as it's supposed to be no good to put on too much weight in the first trimester. Exercise has been absolute minimum because I'm terrified of pushing myself and something happening. Once I get into 2nd trimester and feel more confident I can start back at the gym and do some much needed exercise...EVERYONE wants a beautiful baby and a smoking body - yes vain but true ; ) xx
