Default Paid Parental Leave or Baby Bonus - what am I entitled to now???

I am pregnant with our first baby, due on 16 December, and have just been told today, by my employer (of 10 years) that they are closing the doors to the business on 30 November.

Will I still be eligible for the Paid Parental Leave or for the Baby Bonus???

Is there much of a difference money wise??? I thought there was, but really not sure.

You would be entitled to either, you just need to have worked 10 out of the past 13 months prior to babies arrival and as your employer will be closing down you would have Family Assistance Office pay it. As to which is better, it depends on your circumstances. There is a comparison tool

Thanks for your help. The comparison tool said the Paid Parental leave. I was just worried, I wasn't entitled to it.

Just remember that the ppl is classed as taxable income and as such will effect your income at the end of financial year
